Ten Commandments

The Oahspe explicitly states that the Ten Commandments of Moses are to be obeyed.

I am Jehovih, your Creator, who brought your ancestors out of the land of captivity, freeing them from the chains of bondage. You shall hold no other spirits or powers above Me.

You shall not carve or fashion images of any kind, whether of the sky above, the earth below, or the waters beneath to worship them. Do not bow to them or serve them, for I, the Great Spirit, your Creator, require your whole heart. I remind you that the wrongs of those who turn away from Me will echo through generations, but My loving kindness is with the thousands who walk in My ways and keep My teachings.

You shall not speak My name without reverence or use it carelessly, for the Great Spirit does not overlook such dishonour.

Remember to set aside the sacred day of rest, the day I have blessed. For six days, tend to your work and duties, but on the seventh [Saturday], let all rest—yourself, your children, your servants, your animals, and even the strangers among you. This is the day I have made holy for your renewal.

Honour your father and your mother, so your life may be long and blessed in the land I have given to you.

You shall not take the life of other humans.

You shall not break the bonds of marriage.

You shall not take what does not belong to you.

You shall not speak falsely against your neighbour.

You shall not crave what belongs to your neighbour—whether their home, their spouse, their servants, their animals, or anything that is theirs. Respect the path I have given you.

(Exodus 20:2-17)
